About Me

My life has not followed the typical pattern I expected it would when I was a kid. At that time, I thought I would go to college, get a job, meet the man of my dreams somewhere in the middle of that, be married by 27, and start a family by 30. Simple. My life has been far from simple.

I did go to college and then grad school. I found myself burnt out on school and decided to work for a while as I figured things out.  At the age 24, I was seriously injured in an incident and found myself recovering from that physically and mentally for 2 years before returning to work.  It took me longer than that to recover fully (in an emotional way) and truly find myself again. By the time I was 30, I realized life was not turning out as I planned.

Then, one day, at the age of 35, a friend of mine threatened to embarrass me completely if I didn't try online dating.  I joined Catholic Match and participated in the forums.  I even went to an singles event through Catholic Match that was being held in St. Louis, March 2008.  It was there that I met Chris.  I flirted with him, thought he ignored me, only to be surprised by him contacting me a month later.  As you might say, the rest is history.  We were married on the 4th of July in 2009.  We attempted to start a family right away, but struggled. I had no problem getting pregnant, but lost 3 babies.  It was at this time that I started my blog as a way to put out there what I was feeling and going through.

We now have 2 beautiful baby girls and love them beyond reason! Life is good!

A few other things that you should be warned about.....

I'm a devout Catholic, but I don't always agree with the Pope or Bishops (although I do follow the tenets of my faith).

I'm liberal.

My favorite sport is baseball, and I've been a huge Cardinals fan since I was 10 years old.

As part of our marriage contract, I support Chris's favorite NFL team, the Packers, despite not actually liking football myself.

I love my alma mater, the University of Kansas, and will be a Jayhawk forever! Rock Chalk! (As part of that marriage contract, Chris is a KU fan now, too.)

I own a dog, Daisy Mae, and yes, I think she thinks she is human. ;)

I can be snarky, sometimes funny, and always opinionated.

I love life and thank God daily for giving me a second (and third) chance at life!
