All I Want for Christmas....

It is that time again. It is time for me to once again make a Christmas list.

When I was a kid, I loved putting together my list.  I would pull out the JcPenney Christmas Catalog and go through page by page writing down what I wanted that year.  Not once did I get everything I wished for. That wasn't possible. My list was always too long.   I'm still a bit bummed that I never got the chemistry set I asked for 2 years running or the Game of Life (asked for that multiple years).  ;)

Now that the JcPenney Christmas Catalog no longer exists, I feel a bit sorry for kids today.  How in the world can they know all of the possibilities and gifts they could possibly want?

As an adult, I still make lists for my family and now my husband and his family. My lists have definitely changed over the years.  No longer am I wishing for the perfect doll, Barbie clothes, or a new bike.  (Well, I wouldn't mind a new bike but the one I want isn't in the typical Christmas budget.)  Now I want books, gift cards (so I can pick out my own clothes), CDs, DVDs, kitchen supplies, and other random things that peak my interest.  If I don't get those things, I'm not as bummed any more as I was when I was a child.  I realize that I can always get it for myself later, maybe.

This year, though, I not only get to make a list for myself but also for Ginny.  Now I get to look through websites (I'd much prefer the catalog. Sigh.) and create a list for her so that Santa might deliver her something nice for Christmas.  I'm sure she will love the box anything comes in more than the actual gift.

Well, I need to get on Pinterest and other websites so I can formulate my list.  Creating the list can be fun, but I look forward to giving gifts more than receiving. I hope someone else asks for something good.

What is it that you want for Christmas?

The bike I want in case any of you decide you are in a giving mood. ;) LOL!
